Senior Manager of the Corporate Education and Voluntary Compliance Unit (CIPC)
Mr. Marumo Modiba is the Senior Manager of the Corporate Education and Voluntary Compliance unit of the Companies and Intellectual Property Commission (CIPC) since 2013. The Corporate Education and Voluntary Compliance unit is responsible for the promotion of education and awareness about legislative requirements related compliance with the Companies Act, 2008 (Act No. 71 of 2008) and other applicable legislation. When a society is reasonably informed, voluntary compliance becomes the norm and enforcement efforts become easier. The unit provides knowledge about organisation offerings and customer obligations and responsibilities, as well as consequences of their behaviour. Mr. Modiba has vast experience in different units of the Department of Trade and Industry and CIPC. This includes being the Senior Manager and Deputy-Registrar for the Companies and CCs unit from 1999 to 2010. He was the Senior Manager for the CIPC Decentralisation Program from 2010 to 2012 and thereafter became the Senior Manager of the Corporate Education and Voluntary Compliance unit. During his tenure in the Companies and CC unit, he was a member of the CIPC Client Liaison Committee and Corporate Registrar’s Forum. He holds a legal qualification, an Advanced Certificate in Corporate Law, a Certificate in Theology, and an International Certificate in Channel Management, which together reflect his diverse academic background and leadership versatility.
