Head of Development Impact Support at SEDFA
Don is with the Ecosystem and Stakeholder Management Unit of the Small Enterprise Development and Finance Agency (SEDFA). His responsibilities include, the onboarding and management of SEDFA’s strategic partnerships as well as providing customer support to potential as well as existing SEDFA’s clients.
He has been in development finance for about 30 years. His career in finance specialising in MSME lending, started way back in 1993 as a Business Advisor for the then Small Business Development Corporation (SBDC) – which is today known as Business Partners Ltd. In 1994 he joined Standard Bank as a Monitoring Officer within the small business unit, then the Independent Business Enrichment Centre in 1996. He joined Khula in 1998 and also had a stint with the North West Development Corporation.
Don has a Bachelor of Commerce degree which he obtained from the University of the North (Turfloop Campus). He also has a certificate in Management Development Programme (MDP) from the University of Pretoria, Bank Credit Management from Damelin and a certificate in the consultancy of Small & Medium Industries obtained from the Japan International Corporation Agency (JICA).
